They also have the opportunity to try rugby, horse riding, cartoon drawing and baking.<\/p>\n<p>By offering such a range of activities beyond the classroom at such a young age, we believe pupils will build the key skills critical to success in other areas of school.<\/p>\n<h2>Our extra-curricular programme<\/h2>\n<p>When children reach Preparatory School (Year 3 &#8211; 6), we devote two lessons to various enrichment activities. On Mondays throughout the year, pupils enjoy a bespoke carousel of activities. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mindfulness<\/li>\n<li>Yoga<\/li>\n<li>Chess<\/li>\n<li>Enterprise studies<\/li>\n<li>Philosophy<\/li>\n<li>Parkour<\/li>\n<li>Debating<\/li>\n<li>Advanced coding<\/li>\n<li>Presenting skills<\/li>\n<li>STEM based problem solving<\/li>\n<li>Pottery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further extra-curricular activities take place on Wednesday. Pupils are allowed to choose an activity across the spectrum of music, sport, art, and cultural pursuits.<\/p>\n<p>By offering such a diverse extra-curricular programme as part of the curriculum, we further enhance the personal development of our pupils and create a vibrant learning culture.<\/p>\n<p>Our pupils also benefit from at least 80 extra-curricular clubs that run throughout the week, before school, after school and during lunch. These clubs give our pupils the chance to further their passions and drive their skills to the next level.<\/p>\n<p>The range of opportunities here at Yarm Preparatory School is unparalleled and we truly believe there is something for everyone to to enjoy; this is all part of our mission to meet the interests and needs of each of our pupils.
